Today's post is "Manathakali Keerai Poriyal".
Manathakali Keerai is called as "Black Night Shade" in English. It is a great remedy to cure mouth ulcers. It is a wonder plant and has many nutritional benefits. Do you know that this green:

This plant does not require much water and soil fertility to grow. The plant has white leaves and green berries. These berries are sun-dried and are used for making kuzhambu. Or they can be fried in ghee and had with plain rice.
Ingredients:
Manathakali Keerai 1 bunch
Tur dal 1/4 cup
Grated Coconut 3 tbsp
Red Chilli 2
Cumin Seeds 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Asafoetida a pinch
Method:
Pressure cook manathakali keerai along with tur dal for 4 whistles.
Grind coconut, red chilli and cumin seeds into a thick paste adding little water.
Heat oil in a pan. Once hot, add mustard seeds & red chilli. Allow it to splutter.
Add the cooked spinach and dal.
Add salt, asafoetida and the ground coconut paste (step 2).
Saute well and Switch off the flame.
