Today's post is "Moong Dal Tadka". Do you know that moong dal is:

👉 heart-friendly and helps to lower the cholesterol level in the blood system
👉 extremely easy to digest
👉 good source of iron
Lets get on to the post.
Ingredients:
Moong Dal 1 cup
Tomato 1
Cumin Seeds 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Garam Masala Powder 1 tsp
Chilli Powder 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder a pinch
Coriander leaves few
Kasuri Methi few
For the tadka:
Oil / ghee 2 or 3 tsp
Onion 1
Ginger 1 inch
Garlic Pods 3 to 4
Mustard Seeds 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds 1 tsp
Red Chilli 1
Method:
Add Moong dal, chopped tomatoes, salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder & cumin seeds to a cooker. Add 2 cups of water. Pressure cook for 4 whistles.
Once the pressure is released, adjust the consistency of the dal adding water if required.
Next add ghee / oil in a pan.
Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilli. Once they splutter, add ginger, garlic and chopped onions.
Once they get fried, pour it over the dal.
Simmer the dal for 2 to 3 minutes.
Switch off the flame.
Garnish with coriander leaves and Kasuri methi leaves.
This can be had with steamed basmati rice or even with roti.
