Lets see how to make a healthy dal using Sorrel leaves.
Ingredients:
Sorrel Leaves 1 bunch
Onion 1 big
Tomato 1 big
Mustard Seeds 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli 1
Green Chilli 1 or 2
Ginger 1 inch
Garlic pods 2 to 3
Red Chilli Powder 1 tsp
Cumin Powder 1 tsp
Coriander Powder 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder a pinch
Tamarind extract 2 or 3 tsp
Hing
Salt to taste
Sesame Oil
Method:
Heat Oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilli and urad dal. Once they splutter, add green chilli, ginger & garlic. Saute for a minute.
Add chopped onions. Saute until the onions turn translucent.
Add chopped tomatoes. Saute until they turn soft.
Add turmeric powder, hing salt. Mix well.
Add the chopped Sorrel leaves. Cover and cook until the leaves wilt.
