There are many exotic varieties of dal in Indian cuisine. But do you know that we can make dal in a much simpler way without compromising on the deliciousness? Yep, this post is all about that. Here we make a quick and healthy dal with just the added flavors of onions, fennel seeds and ginger.

Okie, let's get on to the post.
Ingredients:
Tur dal 1 cup
Onion 1
Fennel Seeds 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder a pinch
Asafoetida a pinch
Ginger 1 inch
Green Chilli 1 small
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves
Ghee
Method:
1. Chop onion into small pieces.
2. Add the onion, fennel seeds, turmeric powder over the tur dal and pressure cook for 4 whistles.
3. Once done, add salt to the cooked dal and mash them.
4. Heat ghee in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and allow it to splutter.
5. Next add asafoetida, green chilli and ginger. Saute them for few seconds and pour the tadka over the dal.
6. Allow the dal to simmer for couple of minutes in low flame.
7. Switch off the flame. Garnish with coriander leaves.
8. Enjoy them hot with steamed white rice or Chapathi.
