Aloo Peas Pulao


Today's post is a simple yet yummy Aloo Peas Pulao. This is a very easy recipe made with potatoes, peas and spices. It is extremely tasty when paired with raita. I paired it with raita and yellow dal. It was super delicious 😀.


Ingredients:


Basmati Rice 1 cup

Potato 3 or 4 medium sized

Green Peas 1 cup

Onion 1 big

Ginger 1 inch

Green Chilli 1

Cumin Seeds 1 tsp

Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

Garam Masala powder 1 tsp

Bay Leaf 1

Salt to taste

Oil 2 tsp

Ghee 1 tsp


Method:

  • Soak rice in water for 30 minutes.

  • Heat ghee & oil in a pan. Once hot add bay leaf & cumin seeds and allow it to splutter.

  • Add ginger and green chilli. Saute them for 30 seconds.

  • Add chopped onions. Saute them until translucent.

  • Add chopped potatoes. (Peel the skin of the potatoes and chop it)

  • Add turmeric powder, salt & garam masala to it.

  • Add the green peas, mix well.

  • Next add the soaked basmati rice.

  • Add water, mix and cover the pan with the lid. For 1 cup of basmati rice, use 1.5 cups of water.

  • Cook in medium flame until the rice turns a la dente.

  • Switch off the flame and serve it hot.
