Today's post is a simple yet yummy Aloo Peas Pulao. This is a very easy recipe made with potatoes, peas and spices. It is extremely tasty when paired with raita. I paired it with raita and yellow dal. It was super delicious 😀.
Ingredients:
Basmati Rice 1 cup
Potato 3 or 4 medium sized
Green Peas 1 cup
Onion 1 big
Ginger 1 inch
Green Chilli 1
Cumin Seeds 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala powder 1 tsp
Bay Leaf 1
Salt to taste
Oil 2 tsp
Ghee 1 tsp
Method:
Soak rice in water for 30 minutes.
Heat ghee & oil in a pan. Once hot add bay leaf & cumin seeds and allow it to splutter.
Add ginger and green chilli. Saute them for 30 seconds.
Add chopped onions. Saute them until translucent.
Add chopped potatoes. (Peel the skin of the potatoes and chop it)
Add turmeric powder, salt & garam masala to it.
Add the green peas, mix well.
Next add the soaked basmati rice.
Add water, mix and cover the pan with the lid. For 1 cup of basmati rice, use 1.5 cups of water.
Cook in medium flame until the rice turns a la dente.
Switch off the flame and serve it hot.
