One Pot Rajma Curry

Are you health-conscious? Are you looking for a quick protein packed gravy as a side dish for Chapathi? Then try this One Pot Rajma Curry.


This is a very simple gravy which uses very less oil and packed with protein-rich rajma. Rajma provides us with lots of health benefits. For vegetarians and Vegans, it is an excellent substitute for meat. They:

Ingredients:


Rajma 1 cup

Onion 2

Tomato 3

Green Chilli 1

Ginger 1 inch

Cinnamon Stick 1

Garam Masala Powder 1 tsp

Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp

Asafoetida a pinch

Salt to taste

Coriander leaves


Method:


1. Soak rajma overnight. The next day drain the water and keep it aside.

2. Grind Onion, tomato, green Chilli, ginger, coriander leaves into a fine paste.

3. In a pressure cooker, add little oil.

4. Add Cinnamon stick. Saute it for few seconds.

5. Add the ground onion, tomato paste and saute them in medium flame for 5 minutes.

6. Add rajma, salt and 1 cup water.

7. Pressure cook for 4 whistles. Once done, add garam masala powder, chilli powder, asafoetida. Simmer them in medium flame for 5 minutes.

8. Switch off the flame.

9. Garnish with coriander leaves.


Tip:

------

1. If the consistency is watery, mix a tsp of besan flour with water and add it to the gravy.

2. You can add garlic too. If you wish to add, grind it along with the other ingredients given in step 2.
