Paneer & Peas Butter Masala

Today's post is a yummy Paneer & Peas butter masala. Pairs well with roti /pulao.


Ingredients:


Paneer 1 cup

Peas 1 cup

Onion 2 big

Tomatoes 3

Milk 1 cup

Bay Leaf 1

Ginger 1 inch

Garlic pod 1 or 2

Green Chilli 1

Cashewnuts a handful

Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp

Garam Masala Powder 1 tsp

Coriander Leaves

Kasuri Methi

Cumin seeds 1 tsp

Ghee



Method:


  1. Heat ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds, bay leaf, ginger, garlic & green chilli.

  2. When they start spluttering, add the chopped onions. Saute until they turn translucent.

  3. Next add the chopped tomatoes. Saute until the tomatoes turn soft.

  4. Add cashewnuts, turmeric powder & salt. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.

  5. Switch off the flame. Allow it to cool.

  6. Once cooled, grind the above (discarding the bay leaf) into a smooth paste.

  7. Heat ghee in a pan. Add the ground paste along with the discarded bay leaf.

  8. Saute well. Once the ghee starts separating from the pan, add the paneer cubes & the boiled green peas.

  9. Mix well.Add garam masala powder and milk.

  10. Saute well and allow it to simmer for 5 to 7 minutes.

  11. Switch off the flame. Garnish with Coriander leaves & Kasuri Methi.

  12. Serve with a yummy Pulao or roti 😊.
