Today's post is a Halwa made out of unripe papaya. Oh yeah, you read it right, Papaya Halwa šŸ˜…. Interesting isn't it?

Halwa actually refers to various local confection recipes in West Asia predominantly and its surroundings. You can make halwas from carrots, Pumpkin, Semolina etc. Why not make them with Papaya as well 😁 !

Papaya is a very nutritious fruit. But when your kids don't prefer to eat them, this can be one option of making them to eat šŸ˜‚. This halwa tasted much like Kasi halwa (made out of white pumpkin).

Let's get on to the post.

Ingredients:

Unripe Papaya 1 cup

Sugar 1/2 cup

Ghee 2 tsp

Cardamom 1 pod

Roasted Cashewnuts few

Method:

  • Grate the unripe papaya.

  • Heat ghee in a pan. Add cardamom pod and saute for few seconds.

  • Next add the grated papaya and sugar. Saute it in medium flame.

  • Cook until the papaya turns soft. The papaya will slowly release its juice and change colour.

  • Stir it until the ghee starts oozing out from the sides of the pan.

  • Garnish with roasted cashewnuts and enjoy.

Variations:

To make it healthy, you can also use jaggery instead of sugar.
