Spiced Buttermilk

Buttermilk (also known as Chaas) is one of the most consumed drinks in India especially during the summer season. It is a refreshing drink that is prepared using curd (yogurt), water and spices.

You might wonder what is special about this post. There are three things.

*Adding ajwain seeds

*Adding lemon juice

*Using leaves grown from my own garden.

Adding ajwain seeds is s

omething that I learnt from my friend. So what is special about ajwain seeds? Ajwain contains thymol, an essential oil that gives the spice its distinct aroma and taste. In case you dont get ajwain seeds, the best substitute would be dried thyme. Ajwain Seeds are most commonly used in Indian Cuisine and Ayurveda.

* It relieves indigestion.

* It treats common cold and prevents relief from coughing.

* It combats any infection and regulates the blood pressure.

Adding lemon juice is something that I learnt from my dad. He used to make an awesome buttermilk for us. I would always relish it.

We grow curry leaves and coriander leaves in our garden. Using them in my food gives me lot of happiness.
