Aloo Rice (Potato Rice)

Today's post is about a simple aloo rice. Aloo means "potatoes". So, this is a very easy recipe made with potatoes and Indian Spices. If you like potatoes, then am sure you would love it 😃.
Ingredients:
Basmati Rice 1 cup
Potato 4 or 5 medium sized
Onion 1 big
Garlic 1 pod
Ginger 1 tsp
Green Chilli 1 or 2
Mustard Seeds 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala powder 1 tsp
Amchur powder 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil
Method:
🥔 Soak rice in water for 30 minutes.
🥔 Cook rice until a la dente. (Rice should not be mushy, it should be firm)
🥔 Heat oil in a pan. Once hot add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.
🥔 Then add cumin seeds.
🥔 Add minced garlic, ginger and green chilli. Saute them for 30 seconds.
🥔 Add chopped onions. Saute them until translucent.
🥔 Add chopped potatoes. (Peel the skin of the potatoes and chop it)
🥔 Add turmeric powder, salt to it. Sprinkle little water and cover the pan with the lid.
🥔 Cook in medium flame until the potatoes turn soft.
🥔 Add garam masala powder, amchur powder, coriander powder, chilli powder to it.
🥔 Let the spices blend with the cooked potatoes.
🥔 Add the rice to it. Saute it for a minute so that the rice mixes with the potato mixture.
🥔 Switch off the flame and serve it hot.
You can garnish with few coriander leaves.
