Green Capsicum (Bell Pepper) Chutney

Today's post is "Green Capsicum Chutney". This is a very healthy chutney that can be served with Idli / dosa.
Green Capsicum is very nutritious. It is good for immune system and digestive health. They contain anti-oxidants and are loaded with lots of Vitamins and minerals.
Let's get on to the recipe.
Ingredients:
Green Capsicum 1
Onion 1
Tomato 1
Tamarind (half of a lemon size)
Red Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Chana Dal 1 tsp
Urad Dal 1/2 tsp
Green Chilli 1
Red Chilli 2
Cumin Seeds 1/2 tsp
Coriander Leaves Few
Curry Leaves Few
For the tadka:
Sesame Oil
Mustard Seeds 1 tsp
Urad dal 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli 1 small
Method:
🫑 Heat oil in a pan. Add Cumin seeds, Chana dal, urad dal, tamarind, green chilli, red chilli, curry leaves & coriander leaves. Fry until the dal turns brown. Transfer them to a mixer jar. Grind into a coarse powder (once cool).
🫑 In the same pan, add oil. Add onions. Saute for a minute. Next, add tomatoes & saute for a minute. Then add capsicum, salt & red chilli powder. Saute for 3 to 5 minutes in medium flame. Transfer them into the mixer jar containing the coarse ground powder (step 1).
🫑 Once cool, grind into a smooth paste.
🫑 Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, red chilli & urad dal. Pour the tadka over the chutney.
