If there is a one-pot-meal that can be prepared so quickly without much effort, what would it be? Do comment in the comments section. I would like to know from you 😃.
To me, it is the Jeera Rice. Jeera in English is "Cumin Seeds". This is a rice dish made by tempering with cumin seeds. As you know, Cumin Seeds
👉 are good for gut health.
👉 are a rich source of iron
👉 boosts immunity
👉 are good for liver
👉 are good for skin
These are just few benefits of consuming Cumin Seeds. A simple jeera water is a natural remedy for various health problems. So, let's get onto the recipe which uses the goodness and flavour of cumin seeds. I used a rice cooker for making this. You can make it in pressure cooker too.
Ingredients:
Basmati Rice 1 cup
Onion 1
Cumin Seeds 1 tsp or 1.5 tsp
Ginger 2 tsp
Green Chilli 1
Cardamom pod 1
Water 1.5 cup
Ghee
Method:
💧 Soak basmati rice for 15 minutes.
💧 Add ghee in a pan.
💧 Add cardamom pod and saute it for 20 seconds.
💧 Next add minced green chilli, ginger, cumin seeds and saute it for 30 seconds.
💧 Add chopped onions and saute them until translucent.
💧 Add the drained rice to it. Saute it for a minute so that the rice blends well with the rest of the ingredients.
💧 Transfer that to the rice cooker.
💧 Add water and cook it until a la dente. (For 1 cup basmati rice, I add 1.5 cups water.)
