Poha Cutlet

Are you craving for some snack which is healthy, can be made in a jiffy and at the same time delicious to your taste buds 😊? Then this post is for you.


Poha cutlet is made by mixing poha and potatoes with added spices, and it is toasted on a tava. This is a healthier version as the cutlet is not deep fried. This tastes best when it is had hot/warm.


So before getting onto the recipe, let's get to know some health benefits of Poha. Well, Poha is also known as flattened rice. It is

👉 Easily digestible.

👉 Rich in iron

👉 Regulates blood sugar levels.

👉 Low in gluten

👉 Improves gut health.


These are some of the benefits. So why not incorporate them in our diet 😅.


Ingredients:


Poha 1 cup

Potatoes 4 to 5 medium sized

Ginger 1 tsp

Green Chilli 1 or 2

Turmeric powder a pinch

Chilli powder a pinch

Coriander powder 1/2 tsp

Garam Masala powder 1/2 tsp

Curry leaves few

Coriander leaves few

Oil

Salt to taste


Method:


🌟 Pressure cook potatoes for 4 whistles. Once done, peel the potatoes and mash them nicely.

🌟 Soak poha in water for 5 minutes. Then drain the water thoroughly.

🌟 Take the mashed potatoes in a bowl. To it, add the minced chilli, ginger, curry leaves, coriander leaves, coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and the drained poha.

🌟 Mix them thoroughly and make it into cutlet/ tikki shapes with hand.

🌟 Heat a tava. Place the poha cutlet on the tava.

🌟 Drizzle 1 or 2 tsp of oil over it and cook in medium flame.

🌟 Once it turns golden brown, flip the cutlet to the other side. And cook until golden brown.

🌟 Serve it hot with tomato sauce, coriander chutney or curry leaf chutney.
