Poha or flattened rice is an ingredient that is so versatile. It can be used to prepare dosa, cutlets or even a simple Upma. Today's post is a cutlet/ tikki made using Poha. Loaded with veggies and deep fried, it tastes amazingly delicious. A perfect snack when your hunger cravings are high or an ideal snack during monsoon season as well. I prepared this last week and paired it with tomato ketchup. It was tasty, crunchy outside and soft inside.
Ingredients:
Poha 1.5 cup
Rice Flour 1/4 cup
Maida 1/2 cup
Onion 1
Boiled Potato 2 medium
Ginger 1 inch
Green Chilli 1 or 2
Cumin Seeds 1 tsp
Pepper Powder 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala Powder 1 tsp
Coriander leaves few
Salt to taste
Method:
Soak Poha in water for 10 minutes. Drain the water and mash it well.
To it, add chopped onions, ginger, green chilli, cumin seeds, salt, pepper powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, boiled potatoes and rice flour.
Mix well & pat it into round tikkis.
Add maida, salt, garam masala powder to a bowl. Add water and make a slurry.
Dip the tikkis into the slurry & deep fry them in medium flame.
Serve it hot with ketchup.
