Today's post is very basic tomato chutney that pairs well with Idly / Dosa / Pongal. This is my cousin sister's special recipe. As a kid, when we used to go to my uncle's place for annual holidays, we used to have lot of fun. And my cousin sister will win everyone's heart with just this one Chutney. Of course she is an awesome cook now 😅.

Coming on to the post, the main ingredient is tomato. Tomatoes contain an antioxidant called lycopene which is very good for eyes. In addition to that, they

Ingredients:

Tomato 3 large

Red Chilli 5 (Adjust based on spice)

Curry leaves few

Turmeric powder a pinch

Asafoetida a pinch

Salt to taste

Mustard Seeds 1 tsp

Method:

1. Heat Oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.

2. Next add red chillies, turmeric powder and asafoetida. Saute them for 30 seconds.

3. Add the chopped tomatoes.

4. Add salt and curry leaves.

5. Saute the tomato until the raw smell of the tomato goes away.

6. Switch off the flame. Allow the mixture to cool. Then grind them into a fine paste.

7. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and once it splutters, pour it over the chutney.
