Cucumber Raita



Eating healthy is the need of the hour to build immunity. However, it should be made an habit too 😅.

How many of you like raita 😀? What's your favourite?

Well, a raita is a dip made with yogurt mixed with vegetables and spices. Some vegetables that are commonly used are Onion, tomato and cucumber. It is a best accompany for briyani or a pulao.


This post is about Cucumber raita. Cucumber has lots of health benefits. They


👉 Have a very high water content and hence prevents dehydration.

👉 Have anti-inflammatory benefits.

👉 Are used in skin care.

👉 Support bone health


Cucumber raita is very delicious, healthy. It cools the body and can be made in a jiffy.


Ingredients:

Cucumber 1 medium sized

Yogurt (Curd) 1 cup

Salt to taste

Cumin powder 1 tsp

Chat Masala powder 1/2 tsp

Red Chilli powder 1/2 tsp

Ginger 1/2 inch

Green Chilli 1 or 2

Coriander leaves a few

Oil 1 tsp

Mustard Seeds 1 tsp.


Method:

🥒 Peel the skin of cucumber and chop them into small pieces.

🥒 Grind ginger, few coriander leaves and green chilli adding little water into a thick paste.

🥒 Add salt, cumin powder, chat masala powder, red chilli powder, ginger-chilli-coriander leaves paste. Mix them well.

🥒 Next add yogurt and mix them thoroughly.

🥒 Heat little oil in the pan. Add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.

🥒 Once done, add it to the cucumber raita/dip.

🥒 Garnish with coriander leaves.


If you have it after an hour, it will taste great. That's when the spices would have blended well with the cucumber raita.
