Tomato Raita (Takkali Pachadi)



Today's post is about a simple raita made out of ripe tomatoes.


Ingredients:

Tomato 2 medium size

Curd 1/2 cup

Coriander leaves few

Green Chilli 1

Salt to taste


To temper:

Mustard Seeds 1 tsp

Chana Dal 1/2 tsp

Urad Dal 1/2 tsp


To garnish:

Coriander leaves - few


Method:

1. Chop the tomato into fine pieces.

2. Heat oil in a pan. Once hot, add coriander leaves and green chilli. Saute it well.

3. Next add the chopped tomatoes. Add salt and saute until the tomatoes turn soft.

4. Switch off the flame.

5. Add curd to a bowl. Add the sauted tomatoes to it. Mix well. Add salt if needed.

6. Heat oil in a pan. Once hot, add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.

7. Then add Chana dal and urad dal. Fry it well. Do not over-brown it. Pour it over the raita.

8. Garnish with coriander leaves.
