Daangar Pachadi (Urad Dal Raita)

Today's post is a simple yet healthy raita made out of urad dal. This is a traditional South Indian recipe. This is my mom's special recipe 😄.
Do you know that urad dal:
👉 gives strength to hip bones.
👉 is an excellent source of proteins for vegetarians.
👉 is rich in folic acid
👉 helps in digestion
Okie, let's get on to the post.
Ingredients:
Urad dal – 2 tsp
Red chillies – 2
Curd - 1 cup
Asafoetida – a pinch
Curry leaves and coriander leaves - a little
Salt to taste
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Oil
Method:
1. Dry roast the urad dal and one red chilli in a pan until the dal turns golden brown.
2. Switch off the flame. Once it cools, grind it into a nice powder along with salt and asafoetida.
3. Transfer this to a bowl, add curd. Mix it well,
4. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and the other red chilli. Once it splutters, pour it over the raita.
5. Garnish with Coriander leaves.
